    For Blackrapid straps, if you use Manfrotto with a PL-200 quick release plate then you could keep the quick release plate on the camera and attach the strap from the screw on the plate. That's what I do. I don't use the supplied screw mount on my cameras with the exceptions of cameras I don't use with tripods.

    Great video and very clear explanation. A couple of questions ; why did you opt for ISO 100 rather than 50? What is the advantage of using Multi exposure mode over lets say entire screen average. I would have thought 'entire screen average' would return more consistent results....but there is a great chance of me being mistaken on that! What do you think?

    Totally agree. I have ended up to carry 16-35/2.8 and 70-200 + 2x. My tactic is called "focal lenghts that eye does not see". Night photography is totally different; but only two lenses & bodies then also. Would you like to hear more ?

    Awesome video and explanation mike! a have a question, if you are shooting a subject at 70mm, would the image look identical using 24-70mm and a 70-200mm? based on your video, i'm assuming yes as the distance remains the same as you arent changing the focal length nor distance to subject.

    Thank you for posting this video. I have downloaded Darktable, Raw Therapee, and GIMP and just done a quick look at my photos from my camera to Windows Photos, Darktable & Raw Therapee. The way the images look on my camera vs Photos on Windows starts like my camera shows, then gets Super bright, BUT I can zoom in a lot and see in some parts little color circles. This allows me to zoom in and see a lot of clear details vs the other 2. On Darktable, I can't zoom in anywhere near as much and the pics are more of a warm color making it look like I have a lot of work cut out for me to adjust. Raw Therapee actually brings up my pics exactly as they look on my camera, but if I zoom in a lot, it gets blocks. I will need to learn how to do some editing in the near future, but so far, Raw Therapee is my most likely to be used since I see the same colors without making it look like a warm setting like Darktable does. I just have to be mindful that if I want to see more details of what's further back, it gets blocky so I can't get quite the same details as Photos on Windows. I read someone saying that they use Darktable and GIMP, but since I have yet to actually start my editing journey, I would like to know if anyone can explain why both would be needed.

    Thanks for a great video. I believe that if you want to edit in a bigger spage than rgb, for instance adobe rgb, you will need a monitor that you can switch to adobe rgb, you have much more color space to manipulate the photo. then when finished convert it to rgb for web usage. On a normal monitor (mostly simple rgb) you can not see the adobe color range. From raw shot to edit in big color space (adobe rgb) with a monitor set to adobe rgb and then when finished convert to rgb for everyone to see.

    what happens when the SS overrides the interval? there is no time gap to save the photo in memory card! how does this work then?

  • @SaurabhShukla_22
    @SaurabhShukla_22 10 дней назад

    Hey I shoot on a Sony (A7C) camera, and i really struggle to use/understand the Auto ISO Minimum SS function. The first problem is, let's say I set it to A mode, and set max ISO to 8000, ISOAMInSS to 4". Now after the ISO maxes, the SS again starts to slow down beyond 4", 8",15" and so on (this I still understand). In the program Auto mode, everything goes crazy, I don't even understand what's happening. I expect after the ISO maxes out, and SS is minimum, then the aperture should open up (if the lens allows), but it doesn't , everything is a mess there.

    If you need to focus on a moving target why not just use the autofocus continuous? If you want to focus somewhere specific in a static shot why not just use Flexible Spot area? It's even easier than with the back button focus. With the back button focus you have to target an area you want to focus on, press the back button, then recomposition. It's much easier to just use the joystick and select the spot on the screen you want to focus on.

    • @mikesphotography
      @mikesphotography 6 дней назад

      Some are not removable, some have a larger thread (3/8 16) and some have a smaller thread (1/4 20). The cheaper ones tend to have a fixed head that can't be removed, photography ones tend to have the 1/4 20 thread and the bigger videography tend to have the 3/8 16 thread. Both are imperial sizes and if you have the tripod with the smaller thread, you can get an adapter for the bigger thread. I hope that makes sense. 👍

      Sorry, just saw your message now, I hope you found it... I should have explained that better in the video. You can find it in the menu, tab 1, page 13/14 "Focus Magnifier". It might be on a different page depending on your camera and firmware version. If it is greyed out, you need to switch the camera to manual focus and then it will become available. 👍
